For shell fabric you can use corduroy (used in example), canvas or denim for a stiffer and more durable result. You can also use lighter fabric such as cotton for a softer result. For lining it is recommended to use softer fabric, such as silk, viscose or lightweight cotton. For both use non stretch fabric.
